Basics

Log in to OneDrivelog in

  1. Double click on the OneDrive
  2. Log on with:
    • Blackboard Username
    • Blackboard Password

 

 

Search Current Location

Option 1Click the Search OneDrive -NC

  1. Click the Search Box
  2. Type keywords
  3. Press Enter
  4. Browse results

  1. Press Ctrl + F on your keyboard
  2. Type Keywords
  3. Press Enter

  • Click the Search Everything to view more

  1. Click Help button

Upload a File

Option 1

  • Drag and drop the files

Option 1

  • Double click the file

Download a Copy of the File from the Website

Option 1Right Click and select Download

  1. Right-click the file
  2. Select Download

 

 

 

Option 2Select the file, click download

  1. Select the file you want
  2. Click the Download button

 

 

 

Option 3Open the file online, Click the More button, click download

  1. Open the Document
  2. Click the More button (. . .)
  3. Select Download
  4. Check your Downloads folder

 

 

Sync OneDrive to Officeclick Sync

  1. Click the Sync button
  2. Select the Files to Sync
  3. Click Start Sync

 

 

 

Save a File from OfficeClick File, click Save As, Click your preferred onedrive

  1. Click File
  2. Click Save As
  3. Select Preferred OneDrive location (personal, work etc.)

 

 

Delete a File from OneDrive on your Computer

Option 1

  • Select the document and press Delete

Option 1

  1. Select the file online
  2. Press the Delete button

Create a New FileClick the new Button, Select a type

  • Click the New button
  • Select the type of document you want to create
  • Edit online, or open it on your desktop/laptop

 

 

 

Restore/Permanently Delete an ItemClick Recycle bin, select next to the Document, Select Restore

Remove it from your Desktop/Laptopsettings, Unlink this PC, Unlink account

  1. Right click the OneDrive on your computer
  2. Click Settings
  3. Click Unlink this PC
  4. Click the Unlink Account button

Create a folder online

  1. Click New button Click New, Click Folder

Move Files to a Folder

Option 1

  • Click and drag the files into the desired folder

  2. Select Move to
  3. Select a designated folder
  4. Click Move Here

 

 

Upload Files or a Folder OnlineUpload, click file, select a file

  1. Get to the location you want to save your File
  2. Click Upload
  3. Select Folder or File
  4. Locate your file/folder
  5. Click Open

 

View Files Propertiesright click, click details, look to the right if in a browser

  1. Right click the file
  2. Select Details

 

 

 

Check Version History in a Web Browser

Option 1Click Version History button

  1. Select the file
  2. Click the Version History button
  3. Click the X when done

Work Offline

First Sync your Files OnlineSync your files online

  1. Log onto portal.office.com
  2. Click Files
  3. Click Sync
    • This will sync folders across all systems (phone, tablet, laptop, Desktop etc.)

 

Then work from your Desktop Application

  • The files saved  will update once its back online
  • If you are unsure that it updated, click the Sync button through portal.office.com

 

 

Onedrive.com Basic Layout

When viewing Portal.Office.com

 

  • Click for more Applications (Word, Excel, etc.)

 

  • Click to join groups
  • List of Files and Folders

 

Share Files

Share a File/Folder

Option 1Click share

  1. Click the Share button
  2. Enter the person’s email and a message
  3. Specify if it is available to edit
  4. Click Send

 

 

Option 2Click copy link

  1. Click Copy Link
  2. Specify if it is editable or not
  3. Click on the Link displayed
    • A checkmark will appear if it is copied properly
  4. Paste the link into any message or email desired
    • Facebook, MSN, Emails, etc.
  5. Send it in its desired format

 

Option 3right click Share

  1. Right-click the File or Folder
  2. Select Share
  3. Enter the name or email address and a message
  4. Specify if it is editable
  5. Click Send

 

 

Option 4right click Copy Link

  1. Right-click and select Copy Link
  2. Specify if it is editable or not
  3. Click on the Link displayed
    • A checkmark will appear if it is copied properly
  4. Paste the link into any message or email desired
    • Facebook, MSN, Emails, etc.
  5. Send it in its desired format

 

 

Co-author a FileClick file, click info, click the Add author

  1. Open the document on your computer
  2. Click File
  3. Click Info
  4. Click Add Author
  5. Type in the email or name
    • Click the Address book icon to select from your address book

 

Remove a Co-Authorright click the author, Remove Person

  1. Open the document on your computer
  2. Click File
  3. Click Info
  4. Right Click the Author
  5. Select Remove Person
