The Basics

Create a New NotebookClick My Notebook down arrow

  1. Click the My Notebook down arrow
  2. Click Add Notebook
  3. Log into your account
  4. Name it under Notebook Name
  5. Click the Create Notebook button

 

Create a New Section

Option 1Right click, select new section

  1. Right click next to the tabs
  2. Select New Section

 

 

 

Option 2click the + sign

  • Click the in the tabs of the notebook

 

 

 

 

Create a New Pageclick the + sign

Option 1

  1. Click in the Section you want it
  2. Press the + when it appears

 

 

Option 2Right click, select new page

  1. Right Click where the pages are listed
  2. Select New Page

 

 

Option 3

  • Ctrl + N

 

Create a SubpageRight click, Make Sub-page

  1. Right-click the page
  2. Select Make Subpage

 

 

 

Open an Active Notebookclick down arrow, Open Other Notebooks

  1. Click the Notebook name down arrow
  2. Click Open Other Notebook

 

 

 

Add a NoteClick, start typing

  1. Click anywhere in a Notebooks page
  2. Start typing

 

 

 

Reposition a Section, Page or Notewhen the mouse shows up with arrows

  • Click and and drag
    • Look for the cursor that has arrows going in 4 directions

 

 

 

Move or Copy a Section or Page

Option 1Right click the page, Move or Copy...

  1. Right-click Page tab or Section
  2. select Move or Copy . . .

 

Option 2

  1. Select the page to copy or move
  2. Press Ctrl + Alt + M on the keyboard

 

Print a PagePreview the page before printing

  1. Click File
  2. Select Print
  3. Go through options

 

 

Delete a Note

Option 1

  1. Select the note
  2. Press Delete

 

Option 2 Right Click on the note, press the delete button

  1. Right click on the note
  2. Select the Delete button

 

 

 

Option 3Press the Delete button

  • Click the Delete button

 

 

 

Get Help

Option 1 F1 or the help icon

  1. Press F1  on the keyboard
  2. Type in your question or browse articles

  • Enter a keyword in the search bar

Store a Page, Section, or Notebook in a Different FormatExport as a different format

  1. Click File
  2. Select Export
  3. Make the selection and follow the prompts
    • Export:
      • Single Page
      • Selection
      • Notebook
    • Select a Format:
      • OneNore Section
      • Word Document
      • PDF
      • XPS
      • Single File Web Page

 

Store a Notebook in a Different LocationChange location

  1. Right-click the Notebook name
  2. Click properties
  3. Click Change Location
  4. Log in with your Credentials
  5. Browse for a Location
  6. Click the  Select button

 

 

Tasks Linked Notes

Creating a Task

Option 1Create a task, click the button

  1. Click the Home tab
  2. Click Outlook Tasks
  3. Make a selection
    • Today (Ctrl + Shift + 1)
    • Tomorrow (Ctrl + Shift + 2)
    • This Week (Ctrl + Shift + 3)
    • Next Week (Ctrl + Shift + 4)
    • No Date (Ctrl + Shift + 5)
    • Custom (Ctrl + Shift + K)

 

Option 2Create a task, Right Click

  1. Right click
  2. Select Task button

 

 

 

Marking a Task as CompleteUse the Flag to Mark Tasks

  • Click the Flag icon next to the task
    • It will change to a Check Mark

 

 

 

Delete a Task

Option 1Right Click and select Delete

  1. Right click the Flag
  2. Select Delete Outlook Tasks

 

 

 

Option 2Click outlook tasks, click delete outlook task

  1. Click the Outlook Tasks button
  2. Click Delete Outlook Tasks

 

 

 

Remove a TagRight click, Remove task

  1. Right click the Flag
  2. Select Remove Tag

Attachments

Option 1 File PrintoutsSelect a File

  1. Select the Page you want to attach a file
  2. Click the Insert tab
  3. Click File Printout in the Files group
  4. Click Insert button once the appropriate file is selected

 

 

Option 2 File Attachments Select a File to attach

  1. Select the Page you want to attach a file
  2. Click the Insert tab
  3. Click File Attachment in the Files group
  4. Click Insert button once the appropriate file is selected

 

Option 3 Spreadsheets attach an Excel spreadsheet

  1. Select the Page you want to attach a file
  2. Click the Insert tab
  3. Click  Spreadsheet in the Files group
    • Existing Excel Spreadsheet
    • New Excel Spreadsheet
  4. Click Insert button once the appropriate file is selected

 

Sharing Notebooks

Email a NoteSend a page in an email

  1. Click the Home tab
  2. Select the Email Page button
  3. Fill in the appropriate information
    • To…
    • Cc…
    • Subject
    • Main body
  4. Click the Send button when done

 

Export your Notes

Export as a different format

  1. Click File
  2. Select Export
  3. Make the selection and follow the prompts
    • Export:
      • Single Page
      • Selection
      • Notebook
    • Select a Format:
      • OneNore Section
      • Word Document
      • PDF
      • XPS
      • Single File Web Page

 

Share a NotebookClick the notebooks name, Click Share this Notebook

Option 1

  1. Right-click the Notebook name
  2. Select Share This Notebook
    • Share with People: type addresses
    • Get a Sharing Link: Copy and paste link
    • Share with Meeting: Attach it to a meeting
    • Move Notebook: Change its location

 

Option 2Click File, Click Share, Select Option

  1. Click File
  2. Click The Share tab
    • Share with People: type addresses
    • Get a Sharing Link: Copy and paste link
    • Share with Meeting: Attach it to a meeting
    • Move Notebook: Change its location

 

 

Working with Images

Inserting Images

From the computerClick Inert tab, Click Picture, Browse your computer

  1. Click Insert tab
  2. Select the Pictures button
  3. Browse your Computer for the file
  4. Select an Image
  5. Click Select

 

OnlineClick Online Pictures, Select from an online location or Search

  1. Click Insert tab
  2. Select the Online Pictures button
  3. Select an option
    • Search Bing
    • Browse linked accounts
    • Browse Facebook
    • Browse Flickr

 

Taking a Screen Clipping

  1. Click Insert tab,
  2. Select Screen Clipping 
  3. Click and drag the cursor over what you want
  4. The Screenshot will appear in the page selected

Resizing ImagesClick around the image and drag

Tagging Notes

Applying a TagClick the down arrow for tags

  1. Click the Home tab
  2. Select the preferred tag in the options

 

 

 

 

View TagClick the Find Tags

  1. Right click on a tag

Remove a TagRight Click and Select Remove Tag

  1. Right-click the tagged note

Modify a TagRight click to customize

  1. Right-click Tag
  2. Select Customize Tag
  3. Click Modify Tag…
  4. Create, or change tags
  5. when done click OK

 

Create your own TagRight click to customize, select new tag

  1. Right-click Tag
  2. Select Customize Tag
  3. Click New Tag…
  4. Change the Display Name for the Tag
  5. Pick a Symbol, Font Color, Highlight Color
  6. When done click OK
  7. Click Ok on the second dialog box

 

Create a Summary of Tags

Option 1Create a Summary Page

  1. Click Find Tags in the Home tab
  2. Select Create Summary Page

  1. Right click on a tag
  2. Select Find tags
  3. Select Create Summary Page
